Salt and Light School

The Stieng and Cambodian children in Eastern Cambodia must often travel nearly 20 miles per day back and forth to school over rutted dirt roads, both unsafe and very difficult to navigate in the rainy season. Local schools often demand “corruption money” from students for them to access the proper lesson materials to pass government exams.  As a result most children never graduate from high school. Believing the God has called us, We Love Kids has committed to building a school in Eastern Cambodia in the area near the Stieng minority group! This project, which we’ve called Salt-and-Light, will be a wonderful means of not only bringing the gospel into the area, but will allow for the local children and communities to flourish, and aid in lifting families out of endemic poverty. It will initially be both a boarding school and a day school for a total of 75 students, both Stieng and Cambodian. However, we hope to expand to serve more children in the community of the Snoul township and surrounding villages, eventually opening our doors to primary school children as well.

The school will not only have space to grow their own food, but also serve the  community with projects such as adult classes for agricultural development as well as the development of simple skills such as sewing. The local Christian community will be deeply involved and there will be space for worship services, discipleship classes and many other such needed gatherings.

Pray with us raise the needed $100,000 to begin the school project. Funds raised to date: $25,000.
