Helping Our Scholars

Dear Friends,
I (Joni) just came across an uplifting and encouraging story about a group of WLK scholars from a minority group in Central Vietnam. Over the last several years, a handful of them have made it through high school and into university. WLK scholarships can’t cover all expenses, so four of these university students told several younger students in need that they would each give up their scholarships, get part-time jobs in the city, and pass their funds on to these younger ones. WLK helps over 150 children in Vietnam, but we are cautious about giving details of all of their stories. This one was too good to pass up! It is wonderful to see their willingness to live sacrificially, just as their fine leaders have been teaching them.

FIRST FRUITS: These three trainees (right) just began their studies at Asian Hope Training Center to become part of the faculty for the Salt and Light School. They are being trained to become leaders of the faculty as well as becoming great teachers of children. This coming August, at least two, or possibly even three more high school graduates will join them. Please pray for these wonderful, dedicated young people who love the Lord to become fine teachers and leaders!

Kobay Chrom Village, a Stieng village in Eastern Cambodia, where there is a small cell church, has always had terrible problems accessing clean water. Thanks to a fine donor, they were able to install a solar pump, which doesn’t need a manual lever (often broken!) or an electrical connection to run it.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Philippians 1:3
Thank you to our wonderful donors, prayer partners, and friends. You are a great blessing to us and the children of Vietnam and Cambodia!Serving Together,
